After three games in the Western Indoor Soccer League’s inaugural season, Aaron Burns leads the Aviators club in goal scoring with 3 goals.
“Aaron Burns adds creativity to our team especially from an offensive perspective. He has a good work ethic, is confident with the ball at his feet.” Said Assistant Coach, James Doherty.
Burns, a Semi-Professional Indoor Soccer Veteran, began his career with the Snohomish Skyhawks in 2009. After playing two seasons for Snohomish, Burns joined the Arlington Aviators for his first tour with the club during their inaugural season in 2012. Last season, Burns played for the South Sound Shock, after he moved to the area to attend The Evergreen State College.
Burns’s history of goal scoring proficiency and skill dates back to his career at Edmonds Community College where he led the Tritions in goals during the, 2008 and 2009 seasons. As freshmen, he was among the top 10 in goals scored for the Northwest Athletic Conference.
“I just try and be there for my team, when we need a goal or a big play I feel like it’s me who needs to step up especially as a veteran on the team.” Said Burns.
In last week’s loss to Oly Town, Burns netted two key goals for the Aviators. This weekend, Burns will hope to keep up his offensive production, as the Aviators will face off against the first place Stars in Tacoma.
